About the Opportunity

Arctic Kingdom has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and results oriented Business Development Manager to join our team in Mississauga or  Iqaluit on a full-time basis. There is also an opportunity to work remotely if you have extensive established market experience. 

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for building relationships and securing strategic corporate and channel partnerships in addition to prospecting to secure B2B/C group business that is in line with the company strategy. 

Primary duties include:  

  • Preparing and executing new business development strategy through identifying, prospecting, and converting potential partners to reach and assist selling to their clients
  • Preparing, planning, and executing new business relations and partner client campaigns to drive AK brand presence with the goal of increasing inquiries to consistently grow and fill your pipeline with new leads
  • Liaise and contract with new potential consortia and maintain relationships with existing partners
  • Implementing a sales action plan in order to increase sales and market share within partner distribution channels
  • Rolling out and manage Preferred Partnership programs within all channels
  • Stimulating business development with partners from all distribution channels (travel agencies, corporate accounts, consolidators, OTAs, etc.)
  • Prospecting for new clients
  • Identify new revenue streams and marketable database opportunities in the travel retail partner channel, through presentations and pitches
  • Participate in drafting contracts and agreements, including business case formulation, financial analysis, and negotiations, as it relates to the retail travel channels
  • Partnering with Arctic Kingdom Marketing in order to coordinate the development of cooperative marketing efforts with key accounts with the goal of increasing indirect sales
  • Visiting partners regularly, as well as overseeing sales agents working with partners, and conducting training/presentations
  • Creates engaging, compelling and educational presentations to use onsite, at trade shows or via agent-focused webinars
  • Gathering and analyzing data on market conditions and presenting them clearly and concisely to the sales and marketing team
  • Upholding corporate decisions and communicating them to distribution partners in a professional manner
  • Representing Arctic Kingdom at various industry functions, including those occurring outside of regular business hours

For this role, we are seeking someone with a post-secondary diploma or degree, ideally in business, marketing, or a related discipline. You will also have a minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the tourism industry, ideally with a Tour Operator. Above all, you will have a proven track record in new business development, prospecting, and converting leads through all channels.

Our ideal candidate will also possess:

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Fluency in major foreign language (asset only)
  • Outstanding negotiation and communication skills
  • A strong sense of initiative and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • A valid passport and ability to travel abroad
